125th Anniverary Campaign

Our History Over the past 125 years much has changed, both within education and winthin our society. While the always changing needs of education are significant, the benefit of meeting those needs has never been greater. In 2005, Duchesne was nationally recognized as a Blue Ribbon School for the second time in its history. As a Blue Ribbon School, Duchesne is being honored as an educational institution that has demonstrated superior academic excellence in the state of Nebraska. This award is a testament to the Sacred Heart values on which the school was built. These values have been a permanent fixture in our community since 1881 thanks to the thousands of people who, decade after decade, continued to believe in a vision. As you read the timeline below, think of those people - students, faculty, religious, alumnae, boards and friends who, over the last 125 years have given their time, omeny and lives to make the vision of Duchesne a reality.

Campaign Goals

• New Science labs - modern work stations, lab equipment, fixtures, lighting, plumbing, electrical upgrades, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
• Salary endowment
• Athletics - upgraded and expanded locker rooms, weight room, physical education classrooms, coaches' offices, training/conditioning rooms and increased bleacher seating, storage and concession space
• Auditorium - new seating, improved acoustics, a handicap accessible restroom, stage improvements and increased stage lighting
• Art department - updating the department including fully equipped art studios, a darkroom and yearbook production lab.
• Retire the construction loan
• Ongoing infrastructure upgrades
• Chapel & cafeteria air conditioning
