125th Anniverary Campaign
125th Anniversary Campaign
In 2006, we began our 125th Anniversary Campaign with a goal of raising between $4 million to $5.75 million over a five year pledge period. The goals of this campaign were to address the ongoing needs of our campus buildings. We are happy to report that we currently have over $4 million raised in gifts and pledges! To date, we have accomplished the following goals:
- NEW SCIENCE LABS
- In the fall of 2007, the new science labs were constructed. The labs now contain modern work stations, lab equipment, new fixtures, lighting, plumbing, electrical upgrades and ventilation and air conditioning systems.
- UPDATED ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT
- Our athletic department has also benefited from your generosity. In November of 2007 we upgraded and expanded our locker rooms, weight room, physical education classrooms, coaches’ offices, training/conditioning rooms and increased bleacher seating, storage and concession space.
- RELOCATED ART DEPARTMENT
- Another proud accomplishment is the new and improved Art Department! We updated the department by including fully equipped art studios, a darkroom and yearbook production lab. This project was completed and opened in the fall of 2007.
UPDATED SCIENCE LABS:
The completion of the science labs and classrooms was a key component of the 125th Anniversary Campaign. The old space was completely redesigned and renovated to fully integrate and provide the facilities and technology needed to prepare Duchesne students for college and the ever-evolving medical and science careers of the 21st century."

ART DEPARTMENT PICTURES TO COME:
“Duchesne’s new visual art wing is a triumphant design that exudes spatial clarity. It has been wonderful to teach in this new venue. I remember the days that we had to move the kiln outdoors to fire pottery. The remodeled area includes a variety of rooms to make art, two beautifully equipped spacious studios, a computer lab, an indoor kiln room allowing consistency of firings, a projection room, a lab wet darkroom, a light studio, a matting room for finishing art, an art office with reference library and generous storage accommodations. These amenities allow students to creatively work in both private and group settings. Traditionally the arts have been so important at Duchesne and the new look doesn’t change who Duchesne is, it only enhances the possibilities.” ~ Ms. Bielenberg
PLEASE STAY TUNED AS WE CONTINUE OUR EFFORTS TO COMPLETE THE ADDITIONAL PRIORITIES BELOW…
Our two remaining priorities are:
- To pay off our construction loan, which is the only loan that Duchesne currently carries.
- To build the addition of an elevator on the south end of the college wing which will include a handicap accessible entrance off the student parking lot. The new elevator and entrance are the final improvements for Duchesne to become 100% ADA compliant.
“Along with other components of the Campaign, Duchesne continues to make improvements needed to serve Omaha as a premier college prep school for women—in sports, arts and sciences. These kinds of improvements are only made possible with the help and generosity of donors committed to help Duchesne continue its mission. Help is always needed and gratefully appreciated. But beyond facilities, what is most important about Duchesne is the dedication of the faculty and staff, and that the educational goes well beyond academics—to faith, spirituality, instilling values, and service to others, in short education of the whole person … for life.”

There is still plenty of time to continue to strive for the remaining amount, so if you have not had an opportunity to give to this project, or you would like to extend your gift, it’s not too late! Please stay tuned for additional opportunities!
