The Parent Awareness Committee is a sub-committee of the Duchesne Parent Association. The Parent Awareness Committee's primary purpose is to provide informative programs related to issues faced by high school girls and their parents. They traditionally conduct three programs throughout the year that are related to Drug and Alcohol Awareness, High Profile Parenting as well as a question and answer session where graduating seniors have an opportunity to interact with college freshmen from Creighton University.
January's topic: Successful Techniques for Communicating and Maintaining Strong, Healthy Relationsips with Teenagers. This month's speaker is Michael Winchester, Assistant City Prosecutor. Mr. Winchester is a local advocate for raising responsible young adults as well as a national speaker on successful techniques for preparing your teen to fight the battle and win! Come for an informal question and answer session on how to overcome the everyday issues we face with high school tennagers.
