SUMMER READING

 

All students are required to read one book for English class during the summer that will then be discussed and analyzed during the first weeks of the school year. Beginning the summer of 2008, students are also required to complete a second reading assignment for their science class. Required summer reading for the 2008-2009 school year is: 

ENGLISH REQUIRED READING

Grade 10 - The Iliad translated by W.H.D. Rouse

Grade 11 - The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

** We realize that many of you will have already read this book in eighth grade.  However, we ask that you reread, or refresh yourself, because the study and approach of this book will be very different from that of grade school.
