God on the Gulf Coast – Week 6: November 8

Duchesne continues to increase focus on our student's physical health and wellness through sleep, nutrition, and exercise. In doing so, we do not forget the critical importance of spiritual contemplation and interiority. Starting in October campus ministry began hosting weekly activities for students on Friday mornings from 8:00 to 8:30. The optional activities take place in the school's prayer room and include guided meditation, Examen, faith sharing discussion, and the rosary. This time is designed to help our students develop spiritual habits that not only strengthen faith-life but also combat stress and anxiety.

We would love for our larger community to join the students in adopting this weekly reflection into your own lives. To assist with the implementation of this weekly habit, we invite you to join us on a 7-week retreat with Shirley Miller, RSCJ. Sr. Miller spent 17 years of her life as a teacher and administrator at Duchesne. She continues to remain involved in the advancement of Duchesne as a current Board of Trustees member.

Sr. Miller, in her retirement, is creating spiritual opportunities using her photography and gift with words. Most recently she created an online retreat. It is a series of 2-minute videos. Viewing even one video will regenerate your spirit. You are welcome to follow this retreat at your own pace or follow us on this 7-week journey.
