Athletics Update 1/30 - 2/4

Congratulations to the basketball team for picking up two big wins last week! On Tuesday they were tested on the road at Roncalli but were poised and confident throughout, pulling out a 61-50 victory.  Friday night they defeated South Sioux City for the second time in a week on Senior Night! Nicky Huss scored 16 and June Mullen added 13 to lead the Cardinals to a 56-46 W. The team has now won 3 straight and is 9-7 on the season and 14th in wildcard point standings. We are in a position to host a Subdistrict and have some big opportunities to solidify our position coming up!  Congrats also to Coach J. Moore and the Reserve team for winning their final game of the season on Friday over SSC!

Good luck to the bowling team at their first-ever NSAA postseason event today! They will hit the lanes at Chops Bowl in Bellevue for Districts. Team members are Via BeckerElizabeth GilliganAnnie HooverAudrey LeighowLauren LeighowCaroline SwartzEva Wentz, and team captain Julia Nubel

The dance team is now less than three weeks away from State!  They had a dynamite Jazz routine at the basketball game Friday night. You can see the video on our Duchesne Athletics Instagram page. Seniors Kennedy Hughes and Addie Moore were honored after the game. 

Finally, congrats to the swim team for defeating Skutt 136-33 in a home dual on Thursday where they honored their nine Seniors: Essi BlazauskasBailey Dorfmeyer, Natalie GonzalezLibby HeaneyElle MilesLia MurrayOlivia O’Connell, and Kenedy Rieschl. Duchesne swimmers finished first in nine of the 11 events, including all three relays!

Lia Murray signed her National Letter of Intent to swim at Loyola Marymount University on Wednesday morning!
