College Counseling

The college application process offers a critical opportunity for students to build courage and confidence as they take the necessary steps to continue their education. Duchesne Academy believes it is of the utmost importance that students are in charge of their college search, making decisions about where they go and taking ownership of their admission and scholarship applications.

The College Counseling Program at Duchesne is rooted in Goal 5– Personal Growth in an Atmosphere of Wise Freedom. We strive to help students discover who they are and effectively discern a school that is a good fit academically, financially and personally. We help students identify their strengths, weaknesses, and goals and provide practical and timely information about applying to college.

College counseling begins formally in Junior Seminar during third quarter junior year and continues in Senior Seminar first semester senior year. During these classes, we discuss every aspect of the college application process including scholarships and financial aid. Students use the Naviance Student platform to manage college and scholarship searches and keep track of their applications.
