A message from Torey Reed, Booster Club Co-President:

Dear Duchesne Community,

We hope you are all having a wonderful summer—it has flown by so quickly for us! As the new co-presidents, Jenni and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you back to the Booster Club for another great year and to sincerely thank you for all you have done in the past.

We would like to begin by extending our congratulations to Marissa Ringblom and Sarah Stratman on being named Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director of the Year by the Nebraska Women's Athletic Leadership Alliance—what an incredible and well-deserved honor! We are so lucky to have these amazing women as leaders and examples for our female athletes. 

We are especially excited for the year ahead and are committed to making this a fun, welcoming, and engaging experience for everyone involved. Our goal is for the Booster Club to feel like a true community for parents while supporting our athletes. I had the opportunity to walk through our amazing new facility this week, and I am so excited about all the new opportunities and possibilities it brings—both for our girls and for the Booster Club.

In that spirit, to kick off the year, Jenni and I are hosting a Welcome Social for our first meeting. It will be held on Wednesday, August 19th at 6:00 PM at my home (5408 Nicholas Street). Please join us! All are welcome, and we encourage you to bring a new friend or two so they can learn more about the Booster Club and the fun new plans we have for the year ahead.

Following this event, we will resume our regular schedule of meeting on the second Wednesday of each month. This year, we plan to alternate between traditional meetings and more social gatherings (with a little business mixed in as needed). Our September 9th and November 11th meetings will be traditional meetings held at 5:30 PM in the KMR at Duchesne. In October, we will host another social on October 14th at 5:30 PM (location to follow).

Fall Sports Media Day and Parent Meeting will be in the new gym Sunday, August 23rd at 12:00.

We would like to extend a special thank you to our Golf Event Chairs—Tami and Josh Borer, and Travis and Anne Flodine—as well as our Sponsorship Chairs, who have been working diligently throughout the summer to ensure another successful and fun event.

Please be sure to mark your calendars: the Golf Event will be held at Miracle Hills on September 18th.

We are also excited to share that the Hall of Fame event is coming together and there will be many more details to follow.  It will be held on November 7th, and will be a wonderful opportunity to honor these incredible individuals, show off our new facilities, and raise a little money while we are at it!
