Duchesne Parent Book Club

As one of Duchesne's initiatives to build community and connection, the Parent Association facilitates a parent book club for the 2023-2024 school year, and all parents are invited to join!

The group plans to gather quarterly to read and share ideas of support for our daughters in their journey at Duchesne and beyond.

The first gathering is Wednesday, October 4th from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Duchesne with the all-school read Resistance by Jennifer Nielsen. Enter at the circle drive and the meeting will take place in the Kleyla room behind portry.

The focus of the book is on a young Jewish teenager living in Nazi-occupied Poland, her brave choice to join a resistance and to live or die with honor. The group thought it would be interesting to discuss the summer read, to process what students have experienced, and to consider all of the choices they face as they reckon with their own struggles. You can borrow your daughter’s copy of the book, grab it from the library or purchase it on Amazon.

All Duchesne parents are invited for tea and treats and good connection and conversation.
